Die Waldärztin - Eine Försterin kämpft für ihr Revier
When Anne-Sophie Knop took over her district in the Soonwald forest in Hunsrück at the age of 24, she was the youngest female forester in Rhineland-Palatinate. As a woman in a male domain, she has to contend with many prejudices. Her predecessors have also left her a difficult legacy. The forest is sick: warm summers, strong storms and the bark beetle have taken their toll.
We accompanied the forester for a year in her fight against climate change. She faces an almost insurmountable task: reconciling environmental protection and economic interests.
